After seven years of planning, construction began on the project to rebuild the upstream bridge on October 23, 2013. The road was closed on November 1, 2013 and re-opened on August 22, 2014. In May 2015, FHIA was presented with an Award of Merit for the project. The photos below, all by Bruce Brittain, were submitted to Historic Ithaca to support the award application.
