You are cordially invited to our annual Forest Home holiday party at the home of Bill and Caroline Arms. at 200 Forest Home Drive, on Saturday, December 15, from 5-8 o’clock.

Bring your family, something to drink (wine is fine!) and something to eat (either savory or sweet) and we will enjoy an evening of neighborhood cheer together.

Bill Goodman, Town Supervisor for the Town of Ithaca, has requested this meeting with the Forest Home community on issues related to the Department of Public Works. In particular, he has indicated that the condition of the stretch of Forest Home Drive between Judd Falls Road and McIntyre Place has deteriorated further following the recent snowstorm. The idea of closing that section of road to vehicles has surfaced again.

The meeting will be at the Forest Home Chapel on December 5, 7:30-9pm

This meeting also offers an opportunity for updates and/or discussions on other Public Works issues related to roads and pedestrian sidewalks/walkways.

Here is a report on the new website that has been prepared for the FHIA Annual General Meeting: AGMWebsiteReport.

Fall is fast approaching, which means its time for the Fall Picnic at our lovely Forest Home Park. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, September 15, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., with a rain date of September 22. We hope to see you there.

Andy Galloway reported activity believed to be by a fisher a few days ago.

Over the last year we’ve had repeated deaths of our chickens, brutally committed (of course), and two nights ago our last two chickens were killed with injuries showing a very effective but small-headed predator: one chicken killed for the attacker’s pleasure had only a fist-sized deep hole in the breast and the head cleanly bitten off. So, not a racoon or fox. We can see a small fence opening that the animal used to enter the chicken’s hutch.
